Disclosure & Privacy

Disclosure

I hope you enjoy reading my writing — but remember, any practical information given (even though correct at the time of writing) can change, so it's always best to check.

All information provided is for entertainment purposes only. I am not providing medical, legal or other professional advice, so you use any information from this site at your own risk.

Occasionally I may be offered products or services at a discounted price, or for free. I always give my honest opinion, findings, beliefs or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed here are purely my own.

Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

Privacy

Your privacy matters, and this site is built to need as little of your information as possible. Your information is never sold to third parties.

Cookies and tracking

This site runs no advertising and uses no analytics or tracking pixels. Nothing follows you around. Fonts are stored on this site rather than loaded from Google, so simply reading a page sends your details to no one. The only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in if you choose to sign in to comment — reading never sets one.

Comments

To leave a comment you sign in with your Google account. Google tells this site your name, email address and profile photo, and nothing else. Your name and photo are shown with your comment (the photo is served from this site, so readers' browsers never contact Google); your email address never is — it is kept only so I can reply to you privately. Comments are published once I have approved them. Signing out removes the sign-in cookie, and if you'd like a comment removed, just email me.

The contact form

If you send me a message, the name, email address and message you type are emailed to me so I can reply. That's the only reason they're used — they aren't added to a mailing list or shared with anyone else.

Server logs

Like any website, the hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser and the pages requested) for security and reliability. These are held by the host and are not used to build any profile of you.

Links to other sites

Articles link out to other websites. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies — not this one.

Instagram posts

Some articles show posts from my Instagram. On those pages only, the post is loaded from Instagram, so Instagram receives the usual technical details a browser sends (such as your IP address) and its own privacy policy applies to it. Articles without an Instagram post load nothing from Instagram.

Getting in touch

If you'd like to know what information I hold about you, or would like it deleted, just email me and I'll sort it out.
